not what I'm asking - I have a preference for the gtk version of sw-management even though I'm running kde, but am missing the reinstall functionality of the qt version

Open the package manager. Press the button on top marked "installed".
Then in the list of packages select the one you want. You will see at
the bottom a button labeled "re-install". There is another for
"remove", and a droplist to choose version.

    When done selecting, press "apply".

seems a bit diff in 11.3 - you must select the version you wish to reinstall (under the versions drop list) for the reinstall button to appear, else only the remove button is shown.

When you hide the fact what level you use (and a non released one to add to the embaressment), you can expect that people spoil their time on giving you useless aswers.

hcw - I would point out that said information (including the d.e. used and it's version) are included in my signature so that responders to any posts I make are provided the necessary information for responding to my posts. Though I was remiss in that I should have posted in pre-beta.

    I applogise.

I always start at the top and hope to find the filtering (can I help because I use the same software and level) information there.

Though I admit that that info in the signature could be usefull, I often skip it because there is often a lot of nonsense there.

And it is only a few hours left before you would be asked to post NOT in Prerelease/Beta. I forgive you

hcw - I do try, though not always successfully. Might I suggest the forum consider adding a method to display version numbers on the posts below the avatar similar to as on KDE forums (of course people would have to fill the field in profile and then keep it updated).
