Question Question: How can I use Internet Broadcast in my laptop?

    Hi,

I just want to ask if its possible to hear music from different stations using Internet Broadcast? If it only works for Windows platform, is there a way to work with openSUSE (install application or something that will work)?

By the way, here is the link that I am referring to: e-Radio Portal

(please tell me if i did wrong by pasting the URL and i will remove it)

    Thanks a lot.

    What about kradio?

KRadio - The Linux and KDE Radio Application -

(Don't know much about it, just searched for "internet radio" linux out of curiosity.)

    Wow, that's fast.

Yes, I've searched kradio and found that for Beta2, it supports Internet Radio.

I will try later once I got home and will update if that worked ok.

    Again, many thanks.

If you have installed the relevant media codecs, you will find that many stations provide the broadcast in more than one format. Kaffeine and mplayer both cover a wide range of the codecs.

as for the codecs, do i still need to install some of them? all just i want is for me to play to the different radio station via internet through that website.

Yes you do need the codecs. I don't know if there is something similar for your part of the world but Classical music radio stations live on the internet. Listen online lists all the stations, codecs and speeds of the European stations; as you can see, they use a variety of different codecs and speeds.

I presume you realize that there are already hundreds of Internet radio
site aggregators. As well as many thousands of Internet radio stations.

Perhaps all you need is a complete set of codecs.
