Default how to install specific version of opensuse kernel

    Hi...

I'm trying to install hidpoint driver on my opensuse 11.2 64bit the problem is that this software package supports these kernel versions
    2.6.31.8-0.1-default
    2.6.31.8-0.1-desktop
    2.6.31.12-0.1-default
    2.6.31.12-0.1-desktop
    2.6.31-rc8-rt9-3-rt

which I couldn't get from Yast I got a newer version and I can't get one of the following.
So how could I upgrade to one of these packages?

    Thanks

Try looking at the source repo. Either download directly from
    Index of /source/distribution/11.2/repo/oss/suse/src
or add the repo to your repo list.
    Index of /source/distribution/11.2/repo/oss

You will then need to compile the kernel.

You should also be able to get the compiled version from the oss repo:
    http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.2/repo/oss

Use the radio button in the version tab to switch version
Like this principle (it's not showing kernel though)
ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing

Just search for or navigate to kernel in software manager and do as illustrated.

You need the QT UI in Yast to do this

    Thanks all..

I tried both approaches but the problem is that I can't find the specified packages in the repository
    2.6.31.8-0.1-default
    2.6.31.8-0.1-desktop
    2.6.31.12-0.1-default
    2.6.31.12-0.1-desktop
    2.6.31-rc8-rt9-3-rt

The version there is either newer or older. Is there something I can do to get these packages?

    That's odd.
    It's not as I remember.
    Let me look into it.

Looking at the hidpoint website, it will run on any 2.6 kernel.
You need the 32-bit support compatibility to run it on 64 bit machines, so check you have this.
Look at http://www.hidpoint.com/images/video...ibsinstall.swf for their demo install on ubuntu.
