    Default root loguin on KDE

    -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
    Hash: SHA1

I was reading /usr/share/kde4/config/kdm/kdmrc and see this 3 lines:

    # Allow root logins?
    # Default is false
    #AllowRootLogin=false

this doesn't mean that root can't login in a graphical mode? (I can
    login as root)

Lines with a '#' in front are ignored. If you want to use this option, remove the '#' from the 'AllowRootLogin'-line. The other two lines are comments about the option and therefore should remain #'d.

ok, but #Default is false dosn't mean that if the AllowRootLogin line
is commented the value is false?

try changing the three lines to:

    Code:
    # Allow root logins?
    # Default is false
    AllowRootLogin=false
that is, any line with # at the beginning is NOT read or acted on by
the system, the line is therefore called "commented out"..

the first two lines should remain commented out (with the #) as they
are info to you, the user about what the third line should do if
    uncommented...

you need to "uncomment" the third line so it will be read and acted on..

    see?

why just think when you can just remove the third # and see what happen..

i've never tried it, so it might just be decoration..

be sure and let us know if nothing changes (proving your thinking is
    correct).. ;-)
