Printe HP DEskjet D1660

Hello,

I can not install on my computer LENOVO ThinkPAd sl410 the printer HP D1660,

I try YaST, hp software and cups, probably is the wrong controller.

YaST can found the printer, but the printer do not responde.

thank you.

That printer should work with HPLIP installed.

Could anyboby tell me where do I find installation instructions for Hp deskjet D1600 Series printer.

Thanks

Have a read of this HPLIP guide for openSUSE

AFAIK, you will have to be root to configure with hp-setp. Use the ‘su -c’ command in a terminal, before executing hp-setup.

FWIW, HP have a HPLIP webpage, however the hplip package from openSUSE should be ok.

See how that goes.

That appears when I execute hp-setup

Did you try that command as root or regular user?

I tried as a root user.

That’s the problem. Why my computer can’t found the printer??
Please help me.

I don’t know. Plug in your printer (turn on) and type

lsusb

You should at least see an entry relevant to your printer.
