I meant of course the business people and not us. If you run Linux for
a enterprise you pay for support. Or am i wrong?
    Hi
No you don't have to, there are forums, mailing lists etc. You may pay
    for updates though....

All depends on what the business requirements are....

Ok, i wasn't aware of that. That is if you get the Business Edition of
Suse? I actually really thought that would be the legitimate way how any
Linux distribution would generate money. Afterall you don't charge for
software so money would come in with support.

    Hi
I pay for updates for my SLED 11 SP2 system, so I pay for the added
value of getting the service instead of doing it myself. That being
said, with those updates comes access to the src rpms to do whatever
    with...

You can download SLES or SLED for free, it also comes with a 60 day
    evaluation license to updates.

As Malcolm, depends on what you need. Some people run openSUSE for
business purposes (indeed, as an independent consultant, I use it for
business purposes on all my systems).

I recall a poster here in the forums who bragged she had hundreds of
production openSUSE boxen that were used for business purposes.
