    Default alsa not working T_T

I got a new computer. My first 64 bit. But anyway I was getting tired of using alsamixer everytime I boot my computer. I did some looking around on how to save alsa setting. So I started with this comand "alsaconf". And after that I have no sound. I try reinstalling alsa and everything. And it was a no good. I cant think of anything else to do. Need help getting back my sound. sigh!

This is what happen when I try using alsamixer:

cannot open mixer: No such file or directory

    Yes, I re-install alsa.

    Using suse 11.2 64bit

alsaconf is depreciated for openSUSE-11.2 and can stop sound from working if it is inappropriately run. alsaconf creates an /etc/modprobe.d/sound file, but in 11.2 the file should instead be called /etc/modprobe.d/50-sound.conf.

Try going to YaST > Hardware > Sound and configure your hardware there.
