If the other machine is a Linux PC then I recommend nx: NoMachine NX - Desktop Virtualization and Remote Access Management Software

Ok the other machine is running Ubuntu thats what I have just moved from, so I will try VNC, Now for the bit about downloading and installing from terminal I know it,s zypper Could some1 point me in the wright direction plz

sudo zypper ???

Take a look here:
Zypper/Usage/11.2 - openSUSE
… note there are also pdf cheat sheets you can download, print and even laminate if you wish

Easiest way to enable vnc is from yast2>network devices.
You can then connect to the hast computer by typing:
vncviewer ipaddress:screen_no
where screen_no is the screen number (try 1)
Make sure vnc is installed and enabled on the ubuntu system and that the necessary firewall ports are open.
