Default Browsers - Very buggy - frequent crashes

Hello, I am experiancing frequent crashes for my browsers (FireFox, Opera, Konquerer). It doesn't seem to be related to the amount of tabs I have open, sometimes it will crash on 1 tab, and sometimes it is fine to have 20 tabs up.

Inaddition to this, some flash videos hang after 3 secs.

Any suggestions on tackling this problem?

    Thanks

    PC spec:
    OS: SuSE 11.2 (x86_64)
GUI : XFCE (KDE 4.0 back up)
    Intel Q6600, 2GB Ram DDR2, 9800GX2

Do you really mean KDE4.0? If so, that may be your problem as 11.2 is supposed to have KDE4.3.1 now upgraded to KDE4.3.5.

Sry, I ment KDE 4.3.5, but I stopped using it cause I would rather use CPU usage on folding@home.

But even on TVM I get browser problems, its not dependent on GUI.. afaik

Since it is happening in all browsers it sounds like a problem in XFCE.

if you have flash installed, consider this "normal". (using top look for npviewer.bin). adobe was never able to provide a stable version of flash, not even under windows.

you can help yourself using adblock+ and noscript .

Downgrade flash from 10.0.45 to less, maybe 10.0.32. You can do that in Yast's Software Management module.

    That fixed it for me.

To make people aware this is rolling back what adobe call a critical update make up your own minds.

Adobe - Security Bulletins: APSB10-06 Security update available for Adobe Flash Player

Though using chromium another OS and 10.0.45.2 I've not had any crashes so for curiosity purposes I'd be interested in a site causing it, to test.
Man first, have a try at Info, have a look at Wiki, if all that fails Scroogle!!!!!
If I've helped click on the Rep button I don't know what it does but it sounds cool.

Search for, download and install (just copy the unpacked file to /ust/lib64/browser-plugins/) a 64bit version of flashplayer. Uninstall flash-player from Yast first. Works great.
