    Default Annoying PackageKit messages on the terminals

    Hi,

    I always get messages like those below in my terminals, that obfuscate my typing.

    How can I get rid of them (updated opensuse 11.2)?

    I already reconfigured syslog to move PackageKit messags to a separate file (because the messages appeared in /var/log/messages too, and I hoped that was the source). But this did not help.

    I'm ok with seeing severe error messages on the console, but not spam like PackageKit started..., stopped...

    please help.

    Thumbs up [solved] Re: Annoying PackageKit messages on the terminals

    over at the german linux-club forum user robi has solved my problem.

    I moved my syslog filter in /etc/rsyslog.conf that sent PackageKit messags to a file before the "*.emerg *" line:
    Code:
    if      ($programname == 'PackageKit') then \
            -/var/log/packagekit.log;RSYSLOG_TraditionalFileFormat
    if      ($programname == 'PackageKit')  then \
            ~
