I am looking for a good music player program that allows you to create a playlist easily and play from said playlist. I have tried Amarok and do not like it. Is there anything better?

There are lots of different players which are capable of doing this, but maybe you could specify what exactly you did not like about amarok so we can narrow down the alternatives a bit.

Quod Libet is a little simpler than Amarok...you might like it.

Kaffeine is also different but more attuned to playing stored playlists than to creating them, though you can do that as well; it all depends what you want to do.

I use xmms for my regular music. Playlists a simple and standard. It
(xmms's main window) can also minimize to a tiny interface which I
    personally like.

    Good luck.
