Question How enable static DNS address for mobile broadband in KDE network manager

How do I activate static DNS for mobile broadband. I can't find any place to write down this information. Settings are made in Network Manager - not Yast.

    From the terminal type:
    sudoedit /etc/resolv.conf

Add the nameservers you want to use at the end of the file,
    E.G.:
    nameserver 192.168.1.1

Then save the file, and you'll be using the nameservers you specified.

In Networkmanager, do not choose DHCP, but DHCP address only. Add the DNS's IP's in the dialog that opens. Done.

    I use Google's 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 which do a great job.

I tried to edit resolv.conf but I don't know how to save it. There seems to be some trouble (me). And to be allowed to open resolv.conf again I have to remove .resolv.conf.swp. How do I issue the save command when editing in console? By the way, is there a difference between "sudo edit" and "sudoedit"?

If I use Kwrite (through Alt-F2 and gkedit) I'm not allowed to save at all.

    Reply to answer 2:
There is no choice in Network Manager for DHCP. At least not for Mobile Broadband. I'm afraid I can't use that simple method to use static DNS. But I shall with pleasure try the Google servers you indicated as soon as I am able to save resolv.conf. If my ISP allows me to use alternate DNS's. It's not possibly from Windows ...
