john@vostro:~>

Since I use this for work, I don’t want the DE to get unstable with updates, but want to do other updates like security updates.

Should I disable the KDE Factory Desktop repos? How can I work this so everything updates without taking my KDE into 4.4.1 beta? I ask because I’m not sure yet what comes down through OSS, NON OSS, and Updates repos…or, if I can only do those. I’m just trying to make it dummy proof…I don’t tend to break things in linux, but you know ;)…:open_mouth: thanks

Switch off all but oss, non-oss, update

then only install security patches

list patches with
**zypper patches
**
install with
zypper patch

ok thanks…that’s what I was looking for…it’s running fast and stable right now, and don’t want to mess up a good thing  [tested] Great…it’s running like a raped ape at present…now I feel like it will stay that way

Not related to your question:
Since, you have configured the Factory version of KDE, you will never need to use the KDE Backports.
