Default How to backup Kmail folders (.mbox format)?

For some time Ihave copied my email folders in .mbox format to files which I then can save to cd.
Unfortunately, these files are one (very) large concatenation of email text+attachments which are very inconvenient when searching for a lost email.
Question:how to backup emails from within Kmail?
And, yes, I did read the Kmail manual cover-to-cover and found nothing relevant.
    Thanks in advance for advice!

I think the answer is that you cannot because the assumption is that you will back them up simply by backing up /home.

Thank you, j_h, Iwill follow your suggestion. By the way:Ishould have written ̈"archive" instead of ̈"backup" since I want to be able to retrieve old emails.

Default SOLVED !was: How to backup Kmail folders (.mbox format)?

    Problem solved.
Archived Kmail folders (e.g. on cd) can be accessed by re-importing them into Kmail.
(But Kmail has a tendency to crash non-reproducibly when working on this imported stuff.)
