    Default Folder view (Desktop)

    KDE4.4.0
I had a look at "search and launch" and decided it was not for me, so I decided to go back to folder view(desktop), which I had been running before. Now however, when select folder view, it crashes plasma, and the bug reporter comes up. I can get to "desktop view".
Where precisely are the settings stored? Can I access them in a more detailed way apart from right click desktop and "desktop activity settings" ie so I can create a new folder for the "folder view" to see if something in my "desktop" folder is causing the crash?
The crash handler tells me that the following info is probably not useful, which "debuginfo" packages should I install?

    Code:
Application: Plasma Workspace (kdeinit4), signal: Segmentation fault

I was going to report to bugzilla, but apparently email addresses are published there:
