Default Are Delta RPM Updates for NON-OSS Repo in openSUSE 11.2 discontinued?

The following packages have no delta rpms in 11.2:
    acroread - Adobe Reader ,java-1_6_0-sun, java-1_6_0-sun-plugin,
    Opera Web Browser, flash-player

A quick check on 11.0 and 11.1 update repos shows that there are delta
rpms for latest acrobat reader, sun java and opera updates.

Is this a new Novell/openSUSE policy and has there been an anouncement
    made to inform users.

    TIA for any feedback,

    JM

It could simply be that there is no gain in a delta RPM when practically every file in the package has changed.

That can be the case but same version packages in 11.0 and 11.1 have
delta rpms and thus I am inclined to think that it is one more of those
decisions that have not been communicated to the user base.

I can see some rationale for such a decision since all these packages
are no longer included on the DVD install media and there are
alternative OSS packages that probably cover most needs. But if one
installs from a Live-CD and is on limited quota (and bandwidth) MBB
plan, it is still a huge hit just to obtain the required OSS packages
such as Ocular on a Gnome install. I was planning to give 11.2 Gnome (as
it is stable and requires much less downloads than KDE4 and I also have
a copy of the non-oss add-on cd) a try but after install I am faced with
huge amount of updates for the above packages and which will (or may) be
the case until end of life cycle for 11.2.

Why not ask where the developers are instead of speculating? They don't lurk around here, if that's what you are thinking. We are mainly users.

I am a user seeking clarification on application/software updates and
apart from users I was of the opinion that the forum admins/moderators
might be more informed than I am and provide some clarification. And
would it not be easier for forum moderators/admission (who would/should
have better communication channels open to the openSUSE decision/policy
makers) to enquire about information that needs clarification and that
they also should be informed about?

    Cheers

This should read 'forum moderators/admins' (Spell-Check error).

Nope, this is a user forum. Just file a ticket in Novell's bugzilla and the developers will respond.

    Thanks for your feedback, Ken.

Having thought about the issue deeper and seeing how same updates are
available in 11.0 and 11.1 as delta rpms, I am now 99.9% sure non-oss
repo is in the same category as packman, vlc, mozilla and contrib repos
and thus there will be no delta rpms.

    Cheers
