Default X Window Display Initialization Failure

    Hello all,

Im trying to "ssh -X" my university server for accessing cadence, but i get this:
    HTML Code:
*Warning* X Window Display Initialization Failure
    *Warning* (DISPLAY "<not defined>")
Apparantly i need to assign it my machine IP e.g like:
    HTML Code:
     setenv DISPLAY machine:0.0
But unfortunately it still doesnt solve my problem. All it does is stop printing this warning message as a result..
Any clues.... to circumvent this ?

no so fast! didn't your university provide you with step-by-step
instructions how to access their cadence?

including an address, ID, password, and etc?

if it were my cadence running on my university network you wouldn't be
able to "ssh -X" to anywhere, and go to work..

ask your university network administrator to give you a hand.. ;-)

and a password later on !!
Its as secure as yours would be

    Hi, welcome here,

The output may be the same, but you'd better start a new thread, instead of reusing an old one. Be clear in choice of title, state your openSUSE version / desktop used etc, give as much info as you can.
