Default KDE3:How to make GTK apps to have the same color?

I have tried all means but GTK apps always appear grey. Even with QtCurve style installed.

Did you set up a GTK theme : System Settings > Appearance > GTK Styles and Fonts ?

It will write the hidden file ~/.gtkrc-2.0-kde4

GTK themes are stored in /usr/share/themes.
Put the ones you download from the web (or design yourself) in /usr/local/share/themes.

qtcurve-gtk2 is supposed to give GTK apps a qt look and feel (as far as I know). I don't use it and rather don't apply colors to non-KDE4 applications (System Settings > Colors > Options).

    1. As you can see from the theme's name I use KDE3.

    2. Yes, I choose different GTK styles and fonts, including QtCurve, but the colors are the same grey palette, different from Qt3/Qt4 apps. I checked the box 'use these colors in non-KDE applications'

Tries - the same problem, the color is grey.
