Default How to convert amr audio to something else?

My Droid phone records voice as AMR. I can't seem to find an easy way to convert that format to something more usable. Any suggestions?

You could try ffmpeg, should be available in the Packman repository if you have that enabled. I think this would be the code format to use for converting the AMR audio into MP3, although I cannot guarantee it:

    Code:
    ffmpeg -i "input.file" -ab x -acodec mp3 "output.file"
(N.B. Replace "input.file" and "output.file" with the respective names/locations of your desired input and output files, and remember to use double quotes if the location or filename contains any illegal characters such as a space. Also, replace x with the desired bitrate in b/sec, not kb/sec. You might also be able to use the -sameq parameter in place of defining the bitrate with -ab, although I'm not sure.)

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Jon.
