Have you messed up your keyboard setting, to me it seems as you have it set to french layout. Go in to setting and see to set to us layout, which I suppose will be right for you.

Sorry...I've installed VB Puel a hundred times...rough day, and new install of openSUSE of which I'm new.

What do I need to install to correct this vbox log error...kernel headers seemed to be installed:

Makefile:152: *** Error: unable to find the sources of your current Linux kernel. Specify KERN_DIR=<directory> and run Make again. Stop.

This error happens when I'm building the vbox module by

    su -
    /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup

    thanks

    1) make sure the headers are the right ones for your kernel. Actually I don't think you need the header package so much as the source package

    2) make sure you have the kernel-source installed for your kernel. Same number and same flavor ie desktop or default or which ever you are running.

To do the Above go to Yast-Software- Software Management and search for kernel.

Also be sure you have the gcc compiler package installed.

OK...wow...installed the kernel source and gcc and get this now (I though VB was going to be the easy part

    Code:
Makefile:155: Warning: using /usr/src/linux as the source directory of your Linux kernel. If this is not correct, specify KERN_DIR=<directory> and run Make again.
    make KBUILD_VERBOSE=1 -C /usr/src/linux SUBDIRS=/tmp/vbox.0 SRCROOT=/tmp/vbox.0 modules
    test -e include/linux/autoconf.h -a -e include/config/auto.conf || (		\
    	echo; \
echo " ERROR: Kernel configuration is invalid."; \
    	echo " include/linux/autoconf.h or include/config/auto.conf are missing.";	\
echo " Run 'make oldconfig && make prepare' on kernel src to fix it.";	\
    	echo; \
    	/bin/false)

      ERROR: Kernel configuration is invalid.
             include/linux/autoconf.h or include/config/auto.conf are missing.
Run 'make oldconfig && make prepare' on kernel src to fix it.

    mkdir -p /tmp/vbox.0/.tmp_versions ; rm -f /tmp/vbox.0/.tmp_versions/*

After running recommended commands and verifying my source files, which I installed via zypper, I'm down to this error:

    Code:
    linux-aeoj:/home/john # /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup
    Stopping VirtualBox kernel module done
Removing old VirtualBox netadp kernel module done
Removing old VirtualBox netflt kernel module done
Removing old VirtualBox kernel module done
    Recompiling VirtualBox kernel module done
    Starting VirtualBox kernel module failed
(modprobe vboxdrv failed. Please use 'dmesg' to find out why)
    linux-aeoj:/home/john #
    dmesg is:

    ...too long...

Anyone recognize this error? Other users have same problems, all openSUSE peeps...still looking...thanks
