    Default close button etc. bar

    hi
    in various application i use on kde i have no closing, max, min. buttons. the complete window bar is missing. Why? how can i change?

    To explain: your window manager, kwin, has crashed. Hit Alt-F2, fill in "kwin --replace" and it should go back to work again, giving back the window decorations. BTW, it should be like this in all apps.

    This is completely wrong, something's definitely wrong in your install. Please provide more info:

    Open a terminal window and do:

    uname -a

    cat /etc/SuSE-release

    Please tell us which KDE, KDE3 / KDE4
