    When would mms2 and wmas codecs be made available to view wmv ?

    wmv files will work. Install the proprietary codecs.
    openSUSE 12.3 (x86_64) with Kernel 3.7.10-1.16-desktop and KDE 4.11.2 on MacBook Pro
    Latest MS Windows version used: Win95

    Following the guide throws a bunch of error when calling the initial zypper command listed there (stuff not available and so).

    Anyway, what kind of installation is that where you have to manually install tons of packages just to be able to play back WMV?

    Anyway, what kind of installation is that where you have to manually install tons of packages just to be able to play back WMV?
    one that fallows the law !
    there are a bunch of legal issues with music and video codec's
