    Unhappy 11.2: Compiz stopped working

I've just installed openSUSE 11.2 a few weeks ago, and have been very happy with it, aside from occasional dependency issues. However, about a week ago, compiz completely stopped worked for no discernible reason. When I launch simple-ccsm and try to enable compiz, it tells me that I suddenly don't have the correct hardware, and I get this terminal output:
    michael@linux-dlhi:~> simple-ccsm

    Tooltips = gtk.Tooltips()

Obviously, this is not a debilitating issue, but it is annoying and I would like to see it resolved. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide.

If using kde you do not need compiz, in fact compiz isn't even installed with a kde install.
    Elaborate on your setup..

Oh yeah, sorry about that. I'm running:

    -opensuse 64 bit
    -gnome 2.28
    -3gb RAM
-Intel Core 2 Duo processor T5750
-Mobile Intel Graphic Media Accelerator X3100 graphics card

Let me know if any additional specs would be helpful.

I'm trying... is there an easier way to do that than with all of the junk at Intel Linux Graphics: 2009Q3?

I recently upgraded the kernel from 2.6.31.5 to 2.6.31.8 and didn't do a driver reinstall, and compiz still works fine.
I'm using the Ati fglrx driver from the repositories.

Intel graphics is known to be a real pos and to have serious issues with compiz.
You can try uninstalling, rebooting and then reinstalling the vga driver and see if that helps.

Sorry I thought you where using NVIDIA.

AFAIK you should not need to reinstall Intel after an upgrade.

Does compiz always "Check for Nvidia" for everyone as it shows in my output (and find it "not present", if you have intel), or could that be part of my problem?
