Default Firefox 3.5.5 oS-11.2 - Renders First Page every website

Suddenly Fire Fox is bust! Ironically I just read page "Even Firefox has bugs". First manifested when I tried to go to Googlemail, clicking on bookmark, showed an Apache2 error page and a Centos info which seemed like an amusing insight into Google looking like an outage.

Then re-trying after a few attempts it went to google.co.uk, but following logout, it takes some time (apparently going to a page) but then renders the default startup page, at opensuse.org.

DNS is returning normal values, Konqi works.

Anyone seen this one? My sleuthing is somewhat handicapped without FF3

Well it's User specific, doesn't respond to disabling add ons; but is sorted by explicitly setting "no proxy", rather than use "System Settings", which are not set.

    Very strange.

I had this same problem. I found these two bugzilla entries:

    https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=557385
    https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=548678

    How to fix for now:

    1. In Firefox, select the menu Edit->Preferences
    2. Select Advanced menu
    3. Select Network tab
    4. Select Settings... for Connections Configure how Firefox connects to the internet
    5. Set to No proxy (Auto proxy... seems to work too)

    Vinh
