    http://code.google.com/p/pidgin-facebookchat/ looks promising, but looks
    like it's not yet packaged (officially anyways) as an RPM - you might
    find it in the build service, though - software.opensuse.org/search

    It's in the build service, go to http://software.opensuse.org/search and
    select your version of openSUSE, then use the one-click installer. I did
    that on 11.0 and 11.1 and it seems to work just fine.

    why do people say they miss debian, when most of their software packages are ages old. At least Suse gives you the update software, without a broken rolling release.

    Well guys, this is what I did

    - Fresh installation of Opensuse 11.2
    - Installed pidgin from yast
    - Installed pidgin-libfacebook from Opensuse web site (tried several times with 1.61, 1.63, 1.64 with the same result):
    pgi@linux-za6v:/usr> pidgin --debug | grep facebook
    (23:33:48) plugins: probing /usr/lib/purple-2/libfacebook.so
    (23:33:48) plugins: /usr/lib/purple-2/libfacebook.so is not loadable: undefined symbol: json_array_get_length

    Please note that I installed json lib, in facts you can see here:
    pgi@linux-za6v:/usr> l /usr/lib | grep json
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 27 17 dic 00:29 libjson-glib-1.0.so -> libjson-glib-1.0.so.0.602.0*
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 27 17 dic 00:29 libjson-glib-1.0.so.0 -> libjson-glib-1.0.so.0.602.0*
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 71816 24 ott 06:01 libjson-glib-1.0.so.0.602.0*
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 34296 4 dic 01:28 libmjson-1.2.so*
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 17 17 dic 00:29 libqjson.so.0 -> libqjson.so.0.6.2*
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 117048 19 ott 21:12 libqjson.so.0.6.2*
    p

    So, any possible solution? What wrong?

    Tnx,

    well, I tried, but still no way. Finally I decided to compile it on my pc, and it works. Frankly, I think some dependences are missed and I found ldd unuseful. But I'm still not an expert linux user so ...
    ciao
