    Exclamation Squid not working

    Hey guys

    i have installed opensuse11.2 and downloaded squid using yasts

    i installed the dependencies which yasts told me, and also installed yasts manager for squid (or whatever that is call)

    now i configured squid to run on a special port which is free

    and when i start squid it works.. but it turns off automatically itself within 10 sec

    when i use konsole to do it
    service squid start

    then services starts succesfully, but stops without ANY error, can u please help me in it

    Don't remember correctly, but, you have to do something like
    squid -z
    to initialize its cache store first.
    Also, check the logs.
    openSUSE 12.3 (x86_64) with Kernel 3.7.10-1.16-desktop and KDE 4.11.2 on MacBook Pro
    Latest MS Windows version used: Win95

    yes i got all that stuff configured well using a YAST squid manager..

    but still i have that problme

    yes it solved the error, the command line which u gave. thanks a lot

    btw where is the cache ACTUALLY stored
    coz the path i set is "/var/cache/squid"

    but i cant see any cache file there at all....
