    Default NON OSS

    Hi, just a simple question.

On the SUSE download site, it has a non oss cd download, that is just add-on products that are not required to use SUSE right?

    Thanks,

Yes, you don't need it unless you want to use any of those non-OSS packages.
Even otherwise, you can add its repository and get the ones you want anyway.
openSUSE 12.3 (x86_64) with Kernel 3.7.10-1.16-desktop and KDE 4.11.2 on MacBook Pro
Latest MS Windows version used: Win95

It has only a handful of stuff, a couple I remember are Java and Opera. As syampillai said, you can get exactly the same thing from the online repo, so the CD image is for people for whom it's not practical to get nonOSS over the net.
