Default Setting Repos after a freshly installed opensuse 11.2

    Hi,
After I installed opensuse from DVD, I wanted to add KDE and Mozilla repos with priorities like this:

    Code:
    linux-q1du:/home/baris # zypper lr -d
    # | Alias | Name | Enabled | Refresh | Priority | Type | URI | Service

Then I triey to update with zypper up, but it said there is nothing to update. I surprised cos I was waiting at least 100mb update packages including Firefox update. After I did zypper dup and approved all the vendor changing, I got the latest updates.

However I didn't understand the idea why opensuse's official repos don't offer these updates but kde and Mozilla. I thought after a testing period they will also update the official repos. Then I said doing these vendor changing might result side affects on my system.

As a result, do you suggest to add new repos and do a zypper dup after a freshly installed opensuse 11.2?

You can keep all repos at 99 now
Use the version switcher, like this example on Packman
    or zypper dup is fine.

    reis3k,

by no means do I hold all the ansers. I think the additional repos are for "Bleeding Edge" so they'll hold all the latest updates and most recent. The OpenSuse repos are packages that OpenSuse stands behind and has been tested to work to the fullest without errors.

it's like buying a car with the standard packages offered from the dealership. but you can then take it to the corner chop shop and get it sup'd up with sound system, lift kit, full exhust package, etc..... I think you get the idea right?

Is there a way to do the version switch using zypper ?

Also, when switching, is it possible to have multiple update repositories or only one ?

You can update with zypper, but as it is you need to enable refresh on 1,2,4,5,11

To update packman I think it will be:

    Code:
    zypper dup -r Packman
    Leap 15.1_KDE
