    Default plasma-desktop(kdeinit4) PID 2063 signal:11 segm. fault

    Hi,
    Yesterday I updated OpenSUSE 11.2 w KDE ver.4.3.1 release 6 (the system was update K3b). Today I turn on
    my laptop, after login the Desktop-plasma just crashed, desktop stayed black.
    After I press CTRL+ALT+DEL and appear window to Log off, restart and shutdown.
    I turn on again openSUSE in Failsafe and again desktop-plasm crashed. Help,
    please, I'm new in Linux.

    hi,
    My desktop is black. If I press CRTL+Esc I see the processes on system activity window but descktop is black. And if I press Alt+F2 I can run any aplication. What can I do to see my desktop plasma again? Please, I need your help.

    Hei,

    Are you able to log in as root? If so, try to enter, as 'root user', your home directory and rename or move your .kde4 folder. This way you have a back-up of the content of e-posts, addresses etc. or what else you might have there. Then, try to log-in again as 'your user' and the kde desktop will be re-created as after a fresh install.
    Maybe it will help, and if you don't delete anything you will not loose anything, it should be worth a try.

    Great ideia, I tried rename .kde4 to .kde4BACKUP and then my plasma-desktop work again.
