setting+remembering 11.2+KDE mount options for ext. drives

Hi All,

I just installed KDE flavored 11.2 on my laptop. The “device notifier” auto-mount feature for removable/USB drives is cool. But, I can’t seem to find a way to set fs specific mount options for auto-mounted partitions. For example, I have a vfat fs on one USB drive partition that must be mounted with the “shortname=fixed” mount option, among others. I can do this with a manual mount command, of course, but that’s not very convenient.

Is there some way to set the “notifier” mount options on 11.2? I used to be able to do this in previous releases (in 10.1 maybe?); one could right-click (in Konqueror?) and set the “auto” mount options on a per-partition basis. There should be an easy way to do this on 11.2, but I can’t seem to find it.

TIA!

try this http://software.opensuse.org/ymp/KDE:KDE4:Playground/openSUSE_11.2/device-automounter.ymp

This will give you a KCM module to set automount for external drives (with a few other prefs also)
