I notice we have two versions of Compiz. There is a version 0.7… and a
version 0.8.2-2.2.
Which version is ‘better’? Which version should one install with open SUSE
11.1 and KDE4.3.2?
Thanks

Hi,
Compiz 0.8.2 contains bugfixes that Compiz 0.7.8 will not have. Here’s the full changelog from the compiz-fusion website:
[FusionComm] Compiz 0.8.2 fully released !](http://lists.compiz-fusion.org/pipermail/community/2009-March/000185.html)
Compiz 0.8.2 also has a slightly different interface than Compiz 0.7.8. In 0.8.2 Compiz now has separate Commands and General options, whereas in 0.7.8 this was all under General.
Other than those differences it’s pretty much the same compiz as far as I can tell.
I would recommend going with the updated compiz. You can use the one-click installer from here:
Make sure to follow the instructions linked to here since you’re using KDE 4.3

Take Care,
