    Default factory-snapshot = RC2?

    Hi,

there has been some confusion concerning which repos to use for updating
from RC1 to whatever the current state is before the final release.

    Can anybody confirm that
    http://download.opensuse.org/factory-snapshot/repo/ contains the current
    state of 11.2?

    Thanks,
    Jrg

Carefully read this thread from the factory mailing list:

[opensuse-factory] 11.2 repos vs. factory repos

This was in the ML recently:

    Code:
    Hello,

remaining openSUSE 11.2 development until release is now branched from Factory
[1], the next Factory repo build which will be synced out will already contain
post openSUSE 11.2 changes in some packages (like the phonon splitting) - RC2
    will appear only in http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.2/repo/...

The KDE:KDE4:* repository layout should reflect the new state also, hence

    - I copied current openSUSE:11.2 state to KDE:KDE4:STABLE:Desktop project -
after successful build and enabled publication in the next days it will
contain KDE 4.3.1 packages (including fixes being tested for official
online update) for the next eight months until openSUSE 11.3 release.

    - Hacks/links for hosting newer application sources in KDE:43 project will be
reverted. They will be pushed to KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop and Factory now.

    - KDE 4.3.2 (or with 4.3.3 release) will be merged into the KKFD packages,
KDE:43 will be, if kept, only consist of links to KKFD first. With some
to be defined KDE 4.4 development release KKFD will start to contain it so
switch to either STABLE:Desktop or KDE:43 before if you want to stay safe.

    - KDE:KDE4:UNSTABLE:Desktop (requires now KDE:Qt46) is always unsafe. <g>

    - Btw KDE:42 is not built anymore for some days now and will with the on it
depending repos of Playground/Community disappear also in near future.

    Is something missing/wrong/unclear? :-)

    Hi Camalen,

thanks, I've seen that one. I'm asking because currently

    http://download.opensuse.org/distrib...11.2/repo/oss/ is
    redirecting to
    http://download.opensuse.org/factory-snapshot/repo/oss/.

    Regards,
    Jrg

So if you want to keep the RC2 path, you should use:

    download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.2/repo/oss/

And let the redirector make its "magic" :-)

I'd say mirrors are syncing right now. Let them some hours :-)

Since we, the great unwashed, can't edit our own posts after 10 minutes:

That is not working at all here. This at the moment seems to be a cluster @#$%^%&^&*. Just now I don't think there are any repos for 11.2 only .iso's and deltas. I'm partly basing that on:

[opensuse-factory] 11.2 repos vs. factory repos

read all posts. And also just by trying download.opensuse.org and widehat.opensuse.org. Ain't there... Least wise not now anyhows.

Am I missing something? Does anyone know something I don't???
    Thanks,
    Dwight Paige

if you do an update - using the factory set repos it goes to the snapshot repo.
