machine name

Little issue this time:

By default, when I install my system the installation names my machine: linux-sll1

How can I change that name ?

It’s set in /etc/HOSTNAME

kdesu kwrite /etc/HOSTNAME
To edit

In gnome do gnomesu gedit

YaST > Network Services > DNS and Hostname
where you should see linux-sll1 in a block named “Hostname” where you
can change it and then click “Finish”

unless you are Norwegian:-)

IMHO using YaST is better, because there are more places where this goes like /etc/hosts.

Hi
