Thread: 11.1 x64 USB installation need CD

  1. #1

    Question 11.1 x64 USB installation need CD

    followed instructions on: SuSE install from USB drive - openSUSE

    Only difference is all work were done under uBuntu.

    Now the USB will boot, but keep asking for DVD.

    "Make sure that CD number 1 is in your driver."
    "No CD-ROM or DVD found"

    I can skip that, the next next screen has Start Installation, but I don't dare to risk my existing partition.

    >>>Linuxrc v3.322 (kernel 2.6.27.7-9-default)<<<

    I was expecting similar GUI type of installation pages, as x86's installation DVD.

    Please help,

    Thanks,

    Personally, I'd suggest you just use the Live CD iso and unetbootin. It's much easier, and you can install anything you want from the repos afterwards, so the net effect* is the same.

    * sorry
