Suspend To Disk Does Not Fully Wake Up

Dell Latitude E6400
OpenSuse 11.2 milestone 7

My laptop will suspend to disk without issue (ie. go to sleep). When I try to wake it however, it goes past the GUI progress bar and then back to command line, showing this below (sorry, I am hand-typing it, so it may have typos or be slightly incomplete)

<lots of logging, then>

ata2: exception Emask 0x10 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x0 action 0x9 t4
ata2: irq_stat 0x40000001
ata1.00: exception Emask 0x10 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x10000 action 0xe frozen
<clip…a few lines of logging, then>
res 50/00:01:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/e0 Emask 0x10 (ATA bus error)
ata1.00: status: { DRDY }
option 8-2:1.0: no reset_resume for driver option?
option 8-2:1.1: no reset_resume for driver option?
option 8-2:1.2: no reset_resume for driver option?
option 8-2:1.3: no reset_resume for driver option?
Restarting tasks … done.

But then it just hangs. Only way out is a reboot. Is this something addressed in milestone 8 or RC1?

Thanks,
Rob

Suspend and restore may behave differently on every machine (in some work
better than others), so better test it with the latest factory snapshot
available, that is RC1.

If failing again, open a bug report. Every machine and every setup is a
world :slight_smile:

Thanks for the reply.

Installed RC1 and still have the same issue. I wasn’t sure if this was a common problem everyone is having or not. I didn’t want to file a bug report if it is still early days and the problem is just with this model laptop. But, I will take your advice and file one.

Thanks,
Rob
