Does anyone know how to make gnome working faster, i found it slow some times. I am using openSUse 11.1 any suggestions ?

when? what are you running?
otherwise:
-open top in a terminal and watch it, it will show you where your CPU
cycles are going
-turn off desktop effects
-disable or delete beagle
-turn off openSUSE Updater
-pick a less resource demanding theme
–no round corners
–solid color, no shading or 3D looking window frames
–etc
-run a solid color background
-run less demanding applications (like, use pine for mail, not
thunderbird, etc)
-buy a faster processor
-buy faster hard drives
-buy a video card with better drivers for Linux
-add memory
-add video ram
which is best for you?? no idea…

I think what palladium may be suggesting is that we need more information about your system.
Graphics card in particular might help.
