    Post 3D acceleration - Disabled ?

    Hi.
I have nVidia gForce 8800GT - installed drivers @ nVIDIA Repositories | openSUSE 11.1 @ kde 4.1.3. It seems to work just fine, but the 3D acceleration button is disabled @ sax2

    Code:
    openSUSE 11.1:~> cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf
    # /.../

You need to change the Monitor to LCD, if that's what it is. Vesa is no good.
If 1280x1024 is you screen size then use that.
    Accept the test
    Logout and back in
Has this changed anything, check the 3D chck box again. If it isn't marked, try it. The logout and back in.

    If that doesn't do it
Open a su termianl and do: sax2 -r
    Tumbleweed_KDE

Now I have enabled 3D acceleration. MANY THANKS !

@Akoellh, hi. Now you see the differences, maybe you are right, I don`t know, I`m still new in linux/suse. I wanted to show that is change the 3d, now I can activate or disable.

    Why "now"?

You had it all the time, see your first screenshot.

In fact, I don't even know how to _disable_ 3D when the prorietary driver is correctly installed.

    Default Re: 3D acceleration - Disabled ?

Still this is irrelevant for the nvidia-driver as it does not use the dri infrastructure which is switched on/off by this checkbox AFAIK.

On my system, the checkbox is "greyed out" as in your first screenshot, still I have (of course) 3D.

Nvidia does a lot of implementation with their own, non "standard" extensions sax2 can not handle.
