Diagnostics tools...
Heya,
I have a friend who just got a Zepto Laptop. It refused to install windows XP and Windows 7, however it did install OpenSuse 11.1, with KDE.
I'm wondering if there are any diagnostics tools in OpenSuse, with KDE, that I can use to check if the hardware is ok.

If its running openSUSE ok, I'd discount hardware issues.

There are all kinds of linux-based diagnostic tools available. Have a read of this article:
Linux.com :: Hardware diagnostics with open source tools
In particular, Live CDs containing tools like memtest86, or Memtest86+ may be useful.

The best free tool I've found for Windows is Ultimate Boot CD. There is also one for Linux. It boots a live Windows environment using Bart PE, and is jam packed with every PC tool/diagnostic tool you could ever imagine. You have to download the .exe package and it creates the live CD from there. You will need a Windows install disk so it can pull files from it to create the live CD. You can also click the "plugins" button before creating the CD to download and add additional tools/apps.

EDIT: I said live "CD", but by the time I was done adding all of the available plugins it was an 876 MB iso. I have a UBCD DVD
