K3B - Unable to burn image into DVD-RW

Used K3B in openSUSE 11.1 to burn an iso image into a DVD-RW (re-used) and got an error
http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/2456/imageik.png

Tried another of such DVD-RW and got the same problem.

Rebooted into Debian and used K3B there without any problems.

Any idea what is the cause?

Is this a bug, anyone?

I don’t know, but the difference is. k3b in SUSE is from kde4. Debian is using the kde3 version. I suggest you do the same. Make sure k3b is from Packman, along with the k3b-codecs.

Hi caf4926,

thanks for advise, almost thought that no one had bother to see this post :frowning:

I am using Debian Squeeze with KDE4 so they should be the same.

In a terminal post result of

rpm -qi k3b k3b-codecs

and

zypper lr -d

rpm -qi k3b k3b-codecs

As you can see. k3b is from openSUSE not Packman. Change your repos carefully as avove and do Update.

Hicaf4926 , many THANKS for the patience and advise.

my connection is currently a little slow and still updating, will feedback the results when done.

Seems like I did not setup the repository correcty:O How can I learn to understand to how to correctly set it up?

By the way, I’ve received this error message during the update (sometimes also received it during other time). Is there a way to import the correct keyring or the correct way to solve this issue?

Just accept the key from Packman

Updated Yast as advised and reinstall K3B

Retry burning a Linux ISO onto a reused DVD RW and got the following error

I had tried to explain to use the kde3 version, so I grabed a shot of your screen and edited it.

Ahh… signs of old age lol!

Got that loud and clear, thanks.

Just curious, is the new K3B in KDE4 crippled or unstable or what?

It’s not crippled, but has less features. I’m not using it totally yet.
