Thread: Thinkpad buttons on 11.2M8

    Default Thinkpad buttons on 11.2M8

My current linux is opensuse 10.3 and it has quite nice support for Lenovo Thinkpad R61 buttons, e.g. Fn+F4 to suspend to ram and similar. However, I cannot find a way to enable them in 11.2M8. Any ideas? What packages to install?

    Basically, what I need is:

Fn+F2 to Fn+F9 keys to work as intended (suspend, turn bluetooth on-off etc)
Graphical feedback for screen brightness adjustment buttons
Mouse wheel emulation (scrolling) for middle button on integrated "mouse" + Trackball up/down

If I remember correctly, there were a few packages for Thinkpad (KMilo and tb.something come to mind) but there seems to be nothing on the 11.2M8 installation DVD related to Thinkpads.

    Thanks.

    Is the module thinkpad_acpi loaded?
    It seems that it is:

    linux-82ra:/tmp # lsmod | grep think
    thinkpad_acpi 75204 0
    rfkill 22772 3 cfg80211,bluetooth,thinkpad_acpi

In looking at the source, it seems that not all the buttons are
defined. You should contact the author of the module (Henrique de
Moraes Holschuh <hmh@hmh.eng.br>) regarding themissing functions.
