    Default Installing Nvidia Drivers ?

I am new to Linux... Trying to get it working on my desktop in it's default configuration. I downloaded OpenSuse 11.2 M8 and it installed fine. However I can not access any of the KDE effects. I figured that it is probobly the fact that Nvidia drivers need to be installed separatly.
I went to nvidia site and downloadead .run file for Gforce9 on Linux x64. Tried runing it as root "sh filename.run" and got an error. So I went to NVIDIA - openSUSE and tried a driver from there. YaST2 says "The install link or file you opened does not contain instructions for this version of openSUSE."

So my n00bish question is: how do I install the driver for
    Gforce9 card
    64 Bit OpenSuse 11.2 M8

If you're new to linux it's better that you start with the stable openSUSE 11.1.

When using the binary file from the nvidia you have to have the "kernel-source" package installed.

You have to manually install them with the development versions. NVIDIA/The hard way - openSUSE
