hotplugging eSATA hard disk not working

Hi
I have an 500GB Seagate Barracude ST3500320AS in an external eSATA/USB case.
But I can't get hotplug access to the hard disk via eSATA. With USB everything works fine. And if the case is connected via eSATA during boot up it works,too.
I have AHCI activated in my BIOS. I think the problem is that no device is being created.
/var/log/messages used to show this while connecting to the running system:

But latterly nothing shows up while hotplugging.
Can anyone be of assistance?

I was just googling for the same problem.

I am using an expresscard-eSATA-controller and it works fine with a WD Caviar Green (WD15EADS), but my other two Seagate Barracuda-drives (ST31500341AS) won't start on hot-plug with eSATA - curious they start when either USB-cable or NO cable at all is plugged in. just if the esata-cable is plugged in it won't start.

USB works fine on all drives.

Actually I never tried this. When I switch on the hard disk and then wait a couple of seconds before I connect it via eSATA this appears in /var/log/messages:

It's also shown in Dolphin but when I want to access it I get this error in Dolphin:

org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.PermissionDeniedByPolicy: org.freedesktop.hal.storage.mount-fixed auth_admin_keep_always <-- (action, result)

How can I get rid of this one?

Ok I finally made it!
Just had to make a chmod on the Device and now everything works.
Thank you vindex for making me intent of waiting before connecting the cable
