    Default K3b? help

    hello

    i have K3b installed on Opensuse 11.0.
i want to know how to burn an iso image to a 1 gig flash drive.
right now it will only let me write to 16x dvd writer.

    is it possible?
if "no", is there another program that will?

    thanks

You should have a file you downloaded: unetbootin-linux

See the directions here: UNetbootin - Homepage and Downloads

Once you have done: chmod +x ./unetbootin-linux

Run the file from a su terminal with:

    ./unetbootin-linux

    Hiya,

Check the boot order of the devices to boot from in the machine's bios and
make sure A). if there's a USB option, and B). the USB option has a higher
    priority than other bootable devices.

    hello

both machines have USB set as the first boot option.
    then CD then HDD.

this machine has always locked up when there is a USB device plugged in at boot.

    AMD 1400+ (1.13ghz)
    768 meg sdram
    pri. master - 30 gig - maxtor
pri. slave - 20 gig - western digital
sec. master - unknown dvd reader
    sec. slave - 16x X 16x dvd writer
    SIS650 built-in video

    the laptop:
    toshiba satelite pro 6000
    P3 - 1.1ghz
    512 meg sdram?
    40 gig hd
    trident cyberblade video
dvd redaer - broken, wont read.
hence the need for the USB.

when the USB device is plugged in at boot, it takes about 2 - 2 1/2 minutes then it tries to boot from the network.
    it just hangs after that.

    thanks again.

If you are Sure this PC supports usb booting, try moving the usb device you are trying to boot from to a different slot. Maybe one that is part of the Mobo itself

You could also try disabling the other boot devices in the BIOS. Not that
it would really help to boot from USB but just to take them out of the
    equation entirely.
