Thunderbird 2.0.0.23 password manager broken?

When trying to set a master password the change master password dialog opens, I can enter the new master password but there is no reaction when I press the “OK”-Button and a master password is obviously not set and a signon.txt file is not created either

Any hints on some configuration properties to be set?

The version of Thunderbird is the SuSE build 2.0.0.23-6.1 for x86-64 SuSE 11.1.

Same here! (Thunderbird version 2.0.0.23 (20090817) and OpenSuSE 11.1, kernel 2.6.27.29-0.1-default)

I’ve had this before but managed to solve it via a forum post but I cannot seem to find it anymore…

When I want to check all my accounts the master-password-window appears, when I enter this correctly the window reappears and after filling it again it does not reappear but also no mail is checked at all!
After selecting an individual account the program asks for the password for that account.

Must be a passworddatabase-related thing I guess?!

We have the same problem after updating to 2.0.0.23

Now, as we got a confirmation, is there anybody out there with a solution?

don’t you guys think this is a problem with Thunderbird?
i do…i can’t imagine this is an openSUSE problem…

and, i think one of you (since you have the problem) should join the
Thunderbird user forum and/or figure out how to enter a bug in the
Thunderbird system…

here might be a good place to begin:

Solved.

After updating to Thunderbird 2.0.0.23-6.2 (and ignoring some dependencies to Thunderbird translations) the master password mechanism now works quite well.
