I had a dual boot setup working with the Grub bootloader. Then my Windows XP crashed due to a virus and I had to reinstall the OS on that partition. Now, since the Windows XP bootloader doesn’t support dual boot with Linux, I can’t boot into Suse Linux. Can somebody tell if there is a standard/safe way to boot into Linux with Windows XP bootloader having possibly overwritten the Grub loader?
Thanks in advance
Did you tried to repair the grub from openSUSE.
No, I haven’t done that. Can I use a different version of Suse Linux to repair Grub? Secondly, is there a document that explains exactly how to do this for Suse Linux?
Thanks
This might be worth a read: GRUB Boot Multiboot openSUSE Windows (2000, XP, Vista) using the Grub bootloader.
Simply put, it’s about reinstating a multiboot of openSUSE and windows after it breaks, like yours did.
