    Question Internet bandwidth monitor recommendation

    Hi,
Can anyone recommend an internet bandwidth monitor for Opensuse 11.1.?
I would like a small application or widget if possible.

    Many thanks.

Try KDE Performance-Monitor KSysGuard. Nice graphic display of the load and number of packages (you configure what you want to see). For heavier stuff I prefer Wireshark. Third approach is to log traffic to a file which can be later analized with wireshark like this:

    Code:
    tcpdump -i eth0 -s 1500 -n -w wireshark.log
Note: You must be root to run this. After data acquisition (stop with ^C) start wireshark and load the logfile.

Knetstats may be just what you want. Small, non obtrusive and complete. However there's still no KDE4.x version. In my laptop with both KDE 3.5 and 4.3 installed it works nicely in both DEs.

I've been using it for ages. With KDE4 I started looking for something more "modern", but always go back to it.
