It's as fast your connection is. Mine is anyway.

Is this something to do with Gaming? Most games are for PC's/Microsoft. Though it is possible to play some of them in Linux.
Using Wine: WineHQ - Wine Application Database

But if you are that hooked on Games, you might want to consider a dual boot computer. M$ + Linux

Most drivers are compiled at install - some things may need attention eg; wireless (maybe) but ask here in the forum, don't just go downloading stuff, it's generally not the way it's done in Linux.

I agree. I have downloaded ubuntu 9 but havent installed it yet. Would you recommend this or something else? I`m not using wireless. Computers spects, amd phen 64 quad, 4gb 1066 ram, nividia 9600gt 512mb,2 hd`s with vista 32 on 1 and vista 64 and win 7 enterprise 64 bit on the other. Anyother downloads i need to make to get up and running?

This is the openSUSE forum, questions about the suitability of Ub* should be posted on their forum.
You can try most distros from their Live CD version - But the SUSE DVD will give you a full blown Linux install. if you have some familiarity with Ub*, then you may want to use Gnome in SUSE too.
