Nova-TD 500 - help needed to get working please

Hello all, I’m using Opensuse 11.0 and a brand new Hauppage NOVA-TD500 DVB PCI TV-card. Having never used TV cards under Linux before, I don’t know where to start - naturally, the driver CD is for Windows as are the instructions!

Any help or suggestions at all would be received gratefully.
Many thanks

Rich

A useful reference:

Looks like the TD-500 exists as several versions (chipsets). Hope yours is not the recent TD-500 model they describe:

I don’t have TV-tuner card experience either, although I remember Linux Format published an interesting article on this topic about a year ago. I’ll be following your adventure with this through this thread hopefully.

Hello and thanks for the reply; yes it IS a TD500, purchased today so will be the recent one.

I’ve been staring at the LinuxTV website all night so far lol; it’s late now so I am going to bed but will be picking this up again tomorrow, perhaps fresh eyes are all that are needed
