Default how do you wake up from a hibernation?

I did not realize that my energy saving settings are set to hibernate my 11.1 mobo ( 2.6.27.29-0.1-default ) after a few hours. i left it on last night, so this morning i was at a loss on how to get it back up and running (black screen except for the plasma 'pod' at the top right-hand corner). I tried every key combination I could think of, I depressed the power switch, to no avail. I had to hard reboot.

    Wrong question.

The real question is "does linux support hibernation with my machine?".

If your machine does not come up cleanly after hibernation and you can just continue working (or being automatically asked for your password after pressing a key, because the screen was locked), you have a problem with hibernation itsself.
