I have accidentally closed the task manager bar. Can someone tell me how to get it back ?? :’(
Try right clicking on the desktop, selecting ‘unlock widgets’, then right clicking on the panel, ‘add widget’, and I can’t remember what it’s called, because I broke my system 
… but ‘taskbar’ or similar is a good bet.
Don’t forget to lock widgets again afterwards.
And have faith in forum searches! This comes up quite frequently.

Hiya,
If you’re using KDE 3.x you can launch kcontrol. Under the ‘Desktop’ option
there’s a spot to configure the Panels. In there you can set things up how
you’d like them.

I tried that, alas the add widget bar shows it is installed, but I cannot see it.
Remove it, then put it back - hopefully it will default to a visible position.
If that doesn’t work, then I’m afraid unless anyone knows where precisely it stores its settings you may be best off with the nuclear option. Either delete the whole panel and build it again, or log out to the command line (I think you can log out and select ‘command line session’ from the sessions menu of the log in manager), and rename the ~/.kde4 directory.
That will recreate your settings from scratch when you next run KDE.
[Additional tip - make a backup of your .kde4 folder once you have it working for safe keeping]

Humm, and there’s nothing funky in the ‘Hiding’ tab? Is is possible it’s
just off your visible screen area? Perhaps try changing the screen
resolution temporarily to see if it’s there.
